Minerals That Are Yet to be Named
UNNAMED 003
Hokkaido: Ag-Cu-Pb-Sn sulfide from the Toyoha mine (see toyohaite).
UNNAMED 050
Saga: ~ (Nd,La,Ca)CO3((OH),H2O) = ((kozoite-(Nd) or gysinite?)) - a Nd carbonate in the calcioancylite group, from Niikoba.
UNNAMED DIMORPH OF TEINEITE
Wakayama: Green crusts resembling malachite, together with deep blue teineite (qv) at the "Matsumoto mine".
UNNAMED DIMORPH OF RENGEITE
Niigata: "Orthorengeite" (See under Rengeite)
UNNAMED Pb13.5Ag2Bi9S28
Yamanashi: Found with cosalite and giessenite in pneumatolytic quartz veins at the Otome mine. One of 7 similar analyses gave (wt%): Pb 49.70, Ag 3.87, Fe 0.04, Bi 30.11, Sb 0.51, S 15.79. No x-ray diffraction data. (ref: Tsunoda, K. & Shimizu, M. (1986): Mode of occurrence and chemical composition of ore minerals from the Otome mine, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. Mem. Fac. Lib. Arts Educ., Part 2 (Yamanashi University), 37, 74-81) Possibly really argentian lillianite or argentian xilingolite.
UNNAMED Bi3(Te,Se,S)4
Hokkaido: With kawazulite in Ag-Bi-Te-Se-S mineralization at the Suttsu Pb-Zn mine.
UNNAMED (Tl,Ag)2Pb6(As,Sb)16S31
Hokkaido: With hutchinsonite and chabourneite in Tl-bearing kuroko-type ore at the Tohya-Takarada deposit.
UNNAMED Tl-Bi SULFIDE
Kagoshima: Currently being deposited at temperatures between 180 - 400 C on volcanic rubble in fumaroles in the crater floor of Iwo-dake on Satsuma-Iwojima. (F. Africano, G. Van Rompaey, A. Bernard, F. Le Guern (2002) Deposition of trace elements from high temperature gases of Satsuma-Iwojima volcano. Earth Planets Space 54, 275-286.)
UNNAMED Tl-Pb SULFIDE
Kagoshima: Fumarolically being deposited on volcanic rubble at temperatures between 200 - 400 C in the crater of Iwo-dake on Satsuma-Iwojima. (F. Africano, et al. (2002) Earth Planets Space 54, 275-286.)
UNNAMED VANADIUM ANALOGUE OF POTASSIC-LEAKEITE
Iwate: As red crystals at the Tanohata mine. (See under potassic-leakeite.)
UNNAMED AMORPHOUS Tl-Sb-As SULFIDE
Aomori: As red colloidal coloring matter in siliceous sinter around Osorezan hot springs.
UNNAMED CuZn2InS4
Hokkaido: This as yet undescribed phase is the major indium-bearing mineral at the Toyoha mine. Aggregates reach 10 microns wide and 100 microns long, oriented along the growth planes within zoned 0.3mm sphalerite grains. Since the Toyoha mine has in recent years been one of the world's major indium producers, this as-yet-undescribed mineral must occur quite abundantly.
UNNAMED ZINC ANALOGUE OF SCHULENBERGITE
Osaka: Tiny, pale blue glassy spherules lining vugs at the Hirao mine.
UNNAMED IRON ANALOGUE OF INDIALITE
Toyama: (Qv Indialite).
UNNAMED GOLD TELLURATE ?
Hokkaido: A supergene "gold tellurate" (AuTeO4 ?), derived by oxidation of gold tellurides, was reported from the Date mine. Might be a mixture. (Watanabe, M. (1952) Modes of occurence of tellurium-bearing minerals in Japan. Tohoku University, Science Reports, series 3, 4, no. 2, 45-80)
